  Muscatine Journal Blanche Marie Stonebarger, 101, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Lone Tree, died Thursday, May 25, 2000, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home, Lone Tree. The Rev. Ann Rouse will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren, Jack Larew and Jim Stock. Burial will take place at the Lone Tree Cemetery. A luncheon will be conducted at the United Presbyterian Church, Lone Tree. Visitation will be conducted from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree Historical Society. Mrs. Stonebarger was born on December 21, 1898, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Malichky) Knotek in Washington County. She married Wayne Hill Stonebarger on November 27, 1919, in Lone Tree. She was a 78-year member of the Emma Bechman Chapter of Eastern Star, past matron of Fern Leaf Chapter, Lone Tree. She was also a past member of the Rebecca Lodge and the Y Book Club of Lone Tree. She worked at the Lone Tree Public Schools for several years and at Burge Hall at the University of Iowa for 13 years before retirement. She is survived by a son, Tom Stonebarger, and his wife, Mary, Lone Tree; daughter, Marilyn Snyder, Wichita, Kansas; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sons, Marion, DeWayne, Richard and Jerry; three grandsons, Vince Stonebarger, Shawn Stonebarger and Wayne Snyder; two sisters, Rose Petsel and Tillie Cerny.
