- Evelyn Margaret Zimmerman, 84, of Manheim, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community.
She was born in Shillington to the late William and Eva (Lamb) Ruffner and was the wife of the late George H. Zimmerman.
She was a member of Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, a charter member of the Ephrata Lioness Club, den mother for Cub Pack #73 of Ephrata, Order of the Eastern Star, local chapter. Evelyn enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and making latch hook rugs. She worked in the Ephrata Area School District cafeteria and then was a stock room worker for Donecker's for 40 years until she retired.
Evelyn is survived by 2 sons, Gregory S., husband of Trish (Brady) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Gary L., husband of Donna (Nolt) Zimmerman of Ephrata; 5 grandchildren, Shannon L. Zimmerman, Kristen M. Zimmerman, Rachel A. Wenger, Ryan L. Zimmerman, Caitlin J. Zimmerman; 2 great grandchildren, Taylor L. Wenger and Sophia G. Wenger; a sister, Fern Warzyniak of Wernersville.
In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Virginia Gordon and Anna Bildstine.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, at the Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 110 Durlach Rd., Ephrata, followed by her funeral service at 2:30 pm, with Chaplain Kenneth Higginbotham and Pastor Rocky Hambrick officiating. Interment will take place in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
