Lewis D. McAfee
Funeral services for Lewis D. McAfee, 76, a Wells County farmer and father of Mrs. Lovie Fishbaugh, Swiss Village, Berne, where held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Thoma-Rich Funeral Home, Bluffton. Rev. Calvin Ley and Rev. Matthew Worthman officiated at the services and burial was in St. Paul Cemetery.
He died at 4:15 p.m. Friday at Wells Community Hospital, where he had been admitted Thursday evening.
He was born in Wells County on Sept. 25, 1898, a son of Jacob and Amanda Lamm-McAfee, and was married on Sept. 2, 1920, to Bonnie M. Schell, who survives.
He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Bluffton and resided on Bluffton route 1.
Surviving, in addition to the wife, are three sons, Owen O., Rockford, O.; Darwin D. and Arlin K., both of route 1,Bluffton, two brothers, Charles, Bluffton, and Clarence route 1, Bluffton; one daughter, Mrs. Fishbaugh, Berne; nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
