- Florence Fritz Weitzel Lesher, 89, formerly of Denver, Lancaster County, died Thursday at 2:20 p.m. in Ephrata Community Hospital, where she had been a patient 2 1/2 weeks.
She was taken to the hospital from the Denver Nursing Home, Stevens, Lancaster County, where she had resided since April 13, 1995.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Howard Weitzel, May 16, 1931, and by her second husband, Roy R. Lesher, Feb. 7, 1979.
Born in Brecknock Township, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Glass) Fritz.
Lesher was employed for many years as a knitter by the Hope Hosiery Mill, Adamstown, and was last employed for many years in the trimming department by the Bollman Hat. Co., Adamstown, until retiring.
She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville, Lancaster County.
Surviving are four sons: Ivan W. Weitzel, Reinholds; and Donald R., Frederick S. and Kenneth J. Lesher, all of Denver.
Other survivors include a brother, Victor Fritz, Reinholds; and two sisters: Ada, wife of George Shober, Denver, and Viola, widow of Frank Hess, Ephrata.
There are also seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, Lancaster Count. Burial will be in Muddy Creek Cemetery, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County.
