- Robesonia, Nov. 27--George J. Zerbe, 83, died yesterday in his residence at 114 N. Church St., this place.
Born in Marion Township, a son of the late Jared and Mary Ann (Heydt) Zerbe, he was a retired farmer. His wife, Mary M. (Zerbe) Zerbe, died nine years ago.
Zerbe was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Christ (Little Tulpehocken) Union Church, near Bernville, and its Sunday school and Aid society. He also was a charter member of Bernville Grange No. 1887.
Surviving are five daughters Elvie, wife of William I. Lutz, with whom he last resided; Minnie, widow of Jacob C. Martin, Womelsdorf R. R. 1; Laura, wife of William E. Keppley, Richand; Verna, wife of Wilson Moyer, Womelsdorf; Kathryn, wife of Wayne Dreibebis, here; four sons: Miles, of Womelsdorf R. D. 1; Lester, of Mohrsville; Lloyd, of Richland, and Ralph, of Myerstown R. D. 1, and 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Christ Union Church, the Rev. E. A. F. Kallenbach and the Rev. Dr. Frank W. Ruth officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville, has charge.
