  KINGS MOUNTAIN ~ Rose Elaine McCoin Brooks, 83, was a daughter of the late John Franklin and Ruth Ann Dickinson McCoin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edgar Brooks, Jr. and a sister, Mary Durst. Elaine was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she was a past Sunday School teacher. She served her country honorably as a Dental Lab Technician with the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Elaine was also a member of the Shelby Eastern Star–Chapter 110 and Amaranth–Chapter 21 in Spindale. Interment in Cleveland Memorial Park with Military Honors. Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family of Mrs. Brooks. Published in Gaston Gazette on Jan. 3, 2014
