- Wilmer M. Haldeman, 91, of Ephrata, died Oct. 20, 2008, in Ephrata Hospital. Born in West Cocalico Twp., a son of Martin and Maggie (Noll) Haldeman, he was the husband of V. June (Hummer) Haldeman. They would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on December 31st. A member of Mohler Church of the Brethren, he graduated from Newmanstown H.S. and was an Army veteran of WW II. Retiring from Kalas Manufacturing, Denver, he worked earlier as a full fashion knitter for 25 years at Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing. Wilmer was an avid golfer, enjoyed reading and trout fishing. He also loved painting, having been a student of Charles X. Carlson. Also surviving: son, James N. (Dreama Mills) Haldeman, Mountville; daughter, M. Suzanne (Douglas) Mackley, Reamstown; grandchildren, Lori Mendenhall, Christopher Weid, Amanda Linden, Erik Haldeman and Bethany Mackley; and 7 great-grandchildren. A sister, Miriam Krall, predeceased him.
Funeral: Friday, Oct. 24, 11 AM, Mohler Church of the Brethren, 21 E. Mohler Church Rd., Ephrata, PA 17522. Burial: Mohler's Cemetery. VIEWING: Friday 9:30-11 AM at church.
