  Bart passed away on April 5, 2004. Born April 3, 1927, at Clarence, Iowa in the same bed and house as his father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd Gordon Smith, Alsa Bowers Smith, and brother, Forrest Duane Smith. Barton was a graduate of Iowa State College in 1951. He was employed by banks in Messena, Hampton, New London, Clarion and Coralville, Iowa. He was president of Security Bank and Trust of Bettendorf, Iowa, and from 1969 to 1984 served as president and chairman of Western National Bank of Casper, Wyo. and chairman of State Bank of Mills, Wyo. Barton was a Mason, Scottish and York rite member, Shriner and Jester. At various times he was a member of the Lions Club, Rotary and many other service organizations.
