STARR FAMILY. -John and Mary Starr were life long residents of Old Castle, in the County of Meath, Ireland. He was a yeoman, and a number with Friends. Tradition says that the father of John Starr was a captain of infantry in the Parliament Army during the Civil War in England. That after which he settled in Ireland, and the son resided for a time at Coatehill in the County of Caven. The children, and some of the grand children of John and Mary Starr, were: (i) Jolin, b. 7 Mo., 1674. (ii) James, b. то, 28, 1676. (11i) George, b. 2,16, 1679. (iv) Mary, b. 7, 15, 168. 2. (v) Elizabeth, b. 9, 12, 1684- (vi) Susanna, 1., 9, 23, 1686.(vii) Jeremiah, 1, 8, 17, 16 go, near Old Castle, County of Meath, Ireland. He m. there in Old Castle Friends Meeting, II, 10, 1716, Rebecca Jackson, b. there, 3, 25, 1617, a dau. of Isaac and Ann (Evans) Jackson. They came to America in 1717, purchased and settled upon lands in London Grove Township, where he was a land owner in 1724, and also in 1753. They had children: (a) Ann, 1. 11, 1, 1717, in Ireland ; d. 8, 12, 1761 ; m. James Moore, 2, 16, 1741. (b)John, (c) Jeremiah, d. 1791; m. Elizabeth (Miller) Heart ; (2) Rachel Moore, (d) Rebecca,m. Andrew Moore, 9, 26, 1754. (e) Isaac, 1. 1724; m. 1, 30, 1751, Mary Flower, No. 76. (f)Moses, b. 10, 6, 1728; m. 3, I9, 1760, Sarah Harlan, No. 92. (4) Mary. (11) Alice, m. 12, 16,1756, David Harlan, No, 88. (i) Susana. (j) Joshua. (viii) Moses, b. 8, 27, 1692, in the County of Meath, Ireland. He m. there, in Friends Meeting, at Old Castle, 6, I2, 1713. Deborah King. They came to America in 1717, and settled in Kennt. (ix) Isaac, b. 1697, in the County of Meath, Ireland; cattle to America in 1717, mim, He m. I.2, 20, 1723, at New Garden Meeting, Margaret Lightfoot. In I724 they settled in New Garden Township upon 200 acres of land he had purchased of Thomas Garnett, and resided thereon for five years, when he sold the same to Nathaniel Houlton.
