- Joan M. Wagner, 62, Hamburg, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at her residence. She was the wife of Clayton C. Wagner Jr. They were married May 27, 1967, and celebrated 43 years of marriage. Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Leroy Hoffman and Betty (Dixon) Bingaman. Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Thomas C. Wagner, Hamburg; a daughter, Brenda M. (Wagner) Krieger, Hamburg; and one grandson, Benjamin J. Krieger. Also surviving are two brothers, Curtis Hoffman, Deer Lake; and Larry Hoffman, Schuylkill Haven; and her extended family. Jan is also survived by her mother-in-law, Grace A. (Reber) Wagner, Tilden Township; sister-in-law, Ruth A. (Wagner) Borkey, Centre Township; brother-in-law, David W. Wagner, Centre Township; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Leibensperger Funeral Homes Inc., 65 S. Fourth St., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Township. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m.
