Mr. and Mrs. Amos G. Peifer, 54 Valley Road, Neffsville, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Mary Jane Peifer, to Guy R. Eshelman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde K. Eshelman, Washington Boro R1.
Miss Peifer, a graduate of Manheim Township High School, is secretary-treasurer of Peifer Pontiac, Inc., New Holland.
Mr. Eshelman, a Manor-Millersville High School graduate, is associated with his father in farming.
They will be married in June."

Miss Mary Jane Peifer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos G. Peifer, Neffsville, and Guy R. Eshelman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde K. Eshelman of Washington Boro, were married at 4 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Independent Church.
The Rev. Dr. Frank C. Torrey officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Following a reception at the General Sutter Hotel, Lititz, the couple left for a trip to Europe."

"Jane P. Eshelman, 63, of 289 Donerville Road, died Sunday morning at home of cancer. Mrs. Eshelman was co-owner and dealer with her father of Peifer Pontiac-GMC Truck Inc. in New Holland from 1978 to 1989. She was secretary-treasurer from 1950 to 1989. She and her husband, Guy R. Eshelman, were married 40 years on June 23. She belonged to Calvary Church, where she formerly edited the church newsletter. She was a corporation member of Lancaster Bible College, serving on the student development committee and as a member and former secretary of the auxiliary. She also was a graduate of the Evening Institute at the college. A Penn Manor Republican committeewoman, Mrs. Eshelman was a Penn Manor school board member from 1973 to 1981, serving as treasurer for seven years. She was education coordinator of Lancaster County Ag in the Classroom and a member of the agriculture committee of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Amos G. and Mary B. Buckwalter Peifer. Surviving besides her husband are a son, Dr. Guy R. Jr., husband of Carolyn Eshelman of Lancaster; two daughters, M. Yvonne, wife of Todd C. Crouse of Mount Joy, and Susan P., wife of John L. Wenger of Manheim; a sister, Ann L., wife of Larry Denlinger of New Holland; and three grandchildren."
