- Marjorie E. Soule, 85, formerly of Laureldale, PA, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, in her residence at Columbia Cottage, Wyomissing, PA. She was the loving widow of Fredrick Soule, who passed away October 11, 2020.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mildred (Gates) Degler. She graduated from Reading High School. Marjorie played the organ professionally for more than 50 years at several local churches, including Epiphany Lutheran, Schwarzwald Lutheran, Olivet Presbyterian, and Pennside Presbyterian. Additionally she worked at Bell Telephone and The Drawing Board.
Marjorie was an active church member at several city churches in the Reading area throughout the years, most recently at West Lawn United Methodist Church. She also bowled in a league at Laurel Lanes, was an avid sports fan of both the Flyers and Phillies, and was an accomplished seamstress crafting many clothing articles including wedding dresses for her girls. Marjorie had a great appreciation of nature and history and did extensive planning of yearly family trips in their pop-up trailer. They visited 48 out of the 50 states and Canada.
Marjorie's memory will be treasured by her three daughters: Debra Soule Sauer (Ronald) of Reading; Diane Moyer (Carl) of Exeter Twp.; and Donna Snyder (John) of Grafton, OH; her grandchildren, Heather Froelich (Sean) and Mitchell Moyer (Heather). She is also survived by her brother, John Degler of Manheim.
Visitation for Marjorie will be on Monday, December 20, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with service following at 11:00 AM at Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, with Pastor Terry Cooney officiating. Committal to follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
