- Enos E. Newcomer, 88, of Lancaster, entered into rest on Monday, March 16, 2009 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center in Lancaster after a brief illness.
Born July 28, 1920 in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Frank C. and Ellen (Elliott) Newcomer. He was married to the late Mabel P. (Becker) Newcomer on November 18, 1939. Mrs. Newcomer passed away on September 28, 2005.
Enos was a farmer and also sold vegetables at Central Market. He went on to work at A.K. Mann Tobacco for a number of years. He was also a member of Central Manor Church of God, Washington Boro.
He is survived by a son, J. Kenneth Newcomer, husband of Lois Snyder Newcomer, of Lancaster; a daughter, Mary Jane, wife of Richard J. Kirchner, Jr., of Lancaster; three granddaughters, Jacqueline, wife of Thomas Owsinski, Jennifer, wife of Scott Henry, Jodi, wife of Steven Hollerbush; two grandsons, Keith Kirchner, Kevin Kirchner, husband of Paula; eight great grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Abigail, Nathan, Rebecca, Kailin, Maddie and Sarah; a sister, Fannie Lois Hostetter, of Lancaster and a sister-in-law, Velma Newcomer, of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren E. Newcomer.
Funeral Services will be held at the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, 320 Blue Rock Road, Route 999, Millersville, PA, 717-872-2266, on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 10 AM. Interment will be in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, Millersville, PA. Friends may view at Scheid's on Friday between 9 and 10 AM. Kindly omit flowers.
