- Forrest F. Lesher, 81, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday morning, February 11, 2021. Recently of Quakertown, PA, he was a former long-time resident of Telford, PA.
Born February 15, 1939, in Bernville, PA, he was a son of the late Arthur and Carrie (Wendling) Lesher. He was a 1957 graduate of Bernville High School and attended Kutztown University for two years.
After college, he helped his family build the Way-Har Dairy Store and then worked for Reading Bone & Fertilizer. He was then employed for over 30 years with MOPAC, retiring in 2000 as supervisor of rendering transportation. Following retirement, he volunteered for various community organizations.
Mr. Lesher was a member of Trinity U.C.C. Church in Telford, PA. He served as president of the Franconia Lions Club and as hauptman of Grunsow Lodge No. 2 on da Schibbach. He enjoyed playing pinochle at Generations of Indian Valley, travel, reading and country music. He was devoted to his family and loved them dearly.
Surviving are seven children, Terry Lesher and his partner, Eleanor, of Coatesville, PA, Hollie Lins and her husband, Ron, of Sinking Spring, PA, Connie Lesher and her partner, Jeff, of Arizona, Kenneth Lesher and his partner, Thetd, of Elverson, PA, Gail Lesher of Arizona, Jennifer Shields-Russell and her husband, Keith, of Florida, and Jessica Desiderio and her husband, Joe, with whom he resided in Quakertown, PA. He is also survived by a brother, Harold Lesher and his wife, Linda, of Bernville, PA; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, his former second wife Kathy (Greiser) Steskal and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Lesher and his wife, Shirley; and by his former first wife, Darlyn (Folk) Lesher.
Family will receive friends for his viewing on Thursday, February 18, 2021, from 5-7pm at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford (Franconia Twp.), PA, with words of remembrance at 7pm. Another public viewing will take place on Friday, February 19, 2021, from 11-11:45am at Zion Blue Mountain U.C.C Church, 6573 Old Rte. 22, Bernville, PA 19506, where the funeral service will take place at 12pm. Burial will follow at Strausstown Union Cemetery.
