  She is the daughter of Clarence and Alice (McPheron) Hite of Trenton, Iowa She eloped with Glenn Jo Shumaker to Palmyra Missouri (September 28, 1940... they kept their marriage secret for several months. They had one son Thomas Lee Shumaker (B Feb 25, 1943 D Feb 22, 2018). He was born while Glenn Jo Shumaker was serving in WW11. After Glenn returned from the war they built a home in Mt. Pleasant Iowa. They remained there until they moved to Mission TX for health reasons. There are two granddaughters from Thomas's marriage to Cheryl A (Allen b July 28, 1946 Olds Iowa). Samantha Sue (B Sept 29, 1966 Des Moines Iowa) and Heidi Jo (b Dec 19, 1963 D Aug 8, 2020 Tennessee). She gained adopted granddaughter Charity Shumaker and then a grandson Gunnar W Shumaker (July 3, 1992 Montana) was born from his marriage to Julie Finely Shumaker September 1, 1989. She had a great love of baking, sewing, spending time with family, watching sports and playing with her "grand" Labs. NOTE: In her younger years she held a variety of jobs. For example she sorted seed corn for the various Elevators. And during the war she worked at Sylvania. When the older grandkids were able to stay with her, in their early years during the Summer months, she would work with Head Start so they could be with her.
