  Richard Kenneth Hiester, 77, of Oley, died June 22, 2017 at ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township. Born June 15, 1940 in Reading, he was a son of the late Wellington Andrew Hiester and Mary Elizabeth (Schwartz) Shade. Richard worked alongside his parents as a vegetable farmer helping to run Hiester’s Roadside Market. Subsequently, he was employed as a delivery driver with John Spleen Coal and retired from Wentzel Fabrication, Oley in 2012. He was a social member of Oley Fire Company and a member of the NRA. Surviving are his two brothers: Wellington A. Hiester, Jr. of Buford, SC and Ronald N. Hiester of Florence, SC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, including Nanci Hiester of Mountain View, AK; Wendy S. Gilbert of North East, MD; Paul R. Hiester of Inman, SC and Rachel M. Hiester of Inman, SC. Richard was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Fenstermacher. Services will be held Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. A viewing will be held from 10:00-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Stitzel Funeral Home
