- Harry J. Etchberger, 86, of 750 Columbia Avenue, Sinking Spring, died Friday morning, August 10, 1984, at 4:47 in Reading Hospital, where he was a patient since Tuesday.
He was the husband of Verna M. (Valentine) Etchberger.
Born in Tulpehocken Township, he was a son of the late Jacob and Emma (Daub) Etchberger. Etchberger was employed for more than 20 years in the shipping department of Carpenter Technology Corp., retiring in 1962.
He was a member of St. John's (Host) United Church of Christ, Womelsdorf R.D.1.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by five sons: John J., Luke V. and Richard H., all of Sinking Spring; William J. of Reinholds and Thomas M. of Temple. Six daughters: Pearl N., wife of Charles Shearer, Sinking Spring, and Phyllis J., wife of Russell Kissling, and Judy L., wife of James Kurowski, both of Wernersville; and Ruby A., wife of Frank Bauman, Reinholds; Carolyn J., wife of Robert Hammond, East Earl, and Linda L., wife of G. Dale Sallade, Whitfield.
Twenty-five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two brothers: Fred of Sinking Spring and Claude of Reading.
Also two sisters: Emily, wife of Lee Page, Womelsdorf, and Laura, widow of Allen Spittler, Wernersville.
The Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Wernersville, is in charge of arrangements.
