- Jay N. Dutweiler, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 31, 2017 in Mt. Joy Hospice and Community Care. He was the husband of the late Constance Sholly Dutweiler.
Born in Cleona on August 12, 1930, Jay was the son of the late Aaron and Laura Dutweiler LeGay and the step-son of the late Leroy K. LeGay, Sr. He was a retired vice-president and trust officer for Wachovia Bank.
Jay was a 1948 graduate of Lebanon High School where he served as class treasurer for 34 years and a 1952 graduate of Lebanon Valley College. He was a life-long member of Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, Cleona where he served on the Church Board, as a Deacon, and Church treasurer. Jay was also a member of the Lebanon Lions Club, Board member and treasurer of Lebanon County Christian Ministries and treasurer for the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority. He volunteered for the Lebanon Free Clinic and delivered Meals on Wheels with his late wife.
Surviving are two daughters, Dawn, wife of Dennis Gearhart of South Annville, Laura, wife of Andrew Adams of West Chester; two sons, Jed, husband of Fiona Dutweiler of East Amherst, NY, Jace Dutweiler of Woolwich Township, NJ; thirteen grandchildren, Margaret Brandt, Abigail Demler, Benjamin Gearhart, Elizabeth, Caroline, and Catherine Dutweiler, Ashlyn Lawson, Blake Dutweiler, Emma Bentley, Olivia Streeper, and Isaac, Phoebe, and Jacob Adams; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a step-brother, Leroy LeGay, Jr. of Lebanon.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, 529 W. Penn Avenue, Cleona. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Grand View Memorial Park. A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville and also on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the Church.
