- Gladys Emmaline Brossman, 78, of Rehrersburg, died September 18th, 2009 of natural causes in her residence. Her husband, Schuyler C. Brossman died May 16, 1998. Born in Walnuttown, Berks County, on May 13, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Gertrude (Snyder) Miller.
She was employed by the United States Postal Service, serving as a Postal Clerk at the Rehrersburg Post Office. She was a member of Altalaha Lutheran Church, Rehrersburg.
A former Blue Bird Leader with the Camp Fire Girls and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Keystone Fire Company, Reheresburg, she enjoyed cooking and baking, quilting, and grew beautiful flowers in the warm weather. She was well known thorughout the area for her unique cotton-wrapped Christmas trees, a tradition she kept going for many years. Gladys was also an avid collector of teddy bears.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Brossman, Rehrersburg, and Diane L. wife of Linn Bell, Harrisburg, a son, Mark A. Brossman, Rehrersburg and his companion Janet Vonada, a sister Jean Deysher, Blandon. Also two grandchildren, Rachel Emmaline and Adam N. Bell, of Harrisburg.
She was also predeceased by a brother, John S. Miller, and a half brother, Robert O. Rauenzahn.
Friends are invited to the viewing on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg. The Funeral Service will immediately follow in Altalaha Lutheran Church, Rehrersburg. Interment at Altalaha Church Cemetery.
