  Thelma P. Hackman, 98, died Tuesday morning at Garden Spot Village, New Holland, of natural causes. She was the wife of Homer F. Hackman, who passed away in August, 1995. Born and having lived her life in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Jacob B. and Amelia Strickler Pfautz. After graduation from the former Lititz High School in 1924, where she played on the basketball team, she worked as a bookkeeper at Badorf Shoe Co. Later she worked with her husband in their furniture stores in New Holland and Ephrata. She retired in 1985 from Yerger Bros., Inc. of Lititz. She was a lifelong member of the Lititz Moravian Church and a charter member of the Lititz Springs Chapter 499, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, pinochle, knitting, and watching sports. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Sharon Hackman of New Holland and grandsons, Brian and Neil. She was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Charles Pfautz and sisters, Anna May Pfautz and Evelyn Yerger. A funeral service will be held at Spacht Funeral Home, 127 S. Broad St., Lititz, on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at Spacht Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Interment in the Moravian Cemetery, Lititz. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be conducted by Lititz Springs Chapter 499 on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. If desired, contributions may be made in Thelma's memory to the charity of your choice.
