  The Anaconda Standard, March 15, 1908: DEATH COMES UNEXPECTEDLY ELLIS P. PASSMORE IS VICTIM OF HEART DISEASE. Long promising young Butte businessman - Suffered from nervous prostration. Ellis P. Passmore died of heart disease at the sanitarium at Alhambra springs at 10 o'clock yesterday morning. This news came as a shock to his friends in Butte yesterday afternoon, for there was no warning of the end. In fact, his condition was not considered serious until a short time before he was stricken. The father, John W. Passmore of Butte, was notified only in time to reach the young man's bedside before his death, which came an hour later. Ellis Passmore had long been well known in Butte business circles. He had lived in Butte the past 17 years and was at one time associated with A. J. Darch in the coal business. Later he was head clerk for the Montana Ore Purchasing company, and more recently was manager of the Globe Coal company. A few weeks ago Mr. Passmore found it necessary to go to the sanitarium for treatment of nervous prostration. He seemed to be improving until a few hours before his death. Mr. Passmore was in his thirty-third year, and leaves a wife and two children in Butte. C. M. Coombs, Mrs. Passmore's father, lives at Bowling Green, Ky., and no funeral arrangements will be made until word is received from him. Mrs. Passmore is a niece of Nesbit Rochester. The body was shipped to Butte last night.
