- John E. Walker, Sr.
John Ellsworth Walker Sr., 73, of Harbor Island, died Thursday morning at Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville after an extended illness.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Feb. 15, 1894, the son of the late Asahel and Helen Bruner Walker. He was a veteran of World War I and Adjutant of the American Legion Post number 10.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marion Keever Walker of the home; a son, Robert M. Walker, Clermont, Fla., three daughters, Mrs. John W. Batson, Harbor Island, Mrs. Howard W. Lentz, Clifton Heights, Pa., and Mrs. Harvey A. Lewis, Walkerville, Mont.;, a sister, Mrs. Albert Moore, Audubon, N. J.; 21 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced.

WILMINGTON - Graveside services for John Ellsworth Walker Sr., 73, of Harbor Island, who died Thursday in the Fayetteville Veterans Hospital, will be conducted Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Oakdale Cemetery by the Rev. J. Frank Davis. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marion Keever Walker of the home; one son, Robert M. Walker of Clermont, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. John W. Batson of Harbor Island, Mrs. Howard W. Lentz of Clifton Heights, Pa. and Mrs. Harvey A. Lewis of Walkerville, Montana.; one sister, Mrs. Albert Moore of Audubon, N.J.; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
