Charles Dennis (Chuck) Edelen, 73, Corydon, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at his home.
Born Aug. 15, 1937, in Louisville, he was the son of the late Marvin Augustus and Mary Jo Downs Edelen.
He was retired from the Air Force, having served in Vietnam where he earned the Air Force Commendation Medal; was a life member of VFW Old Capitol Post 2950 in Corydon; and was a member of the Catholic faith.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Gertrude Ritchie, and a brother, John K. Edelen.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicky Cooke of Wimberly, Texas, and Sharlan Narvaez of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Robert Lynn Edelen of Depauw and Max A. Edelen of New Salisbury; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Aug. 11, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 12, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Corydon. Pallbearers: Robert, Max, Doug and Rich Edelen and Mike Gables.
The family suggests memorial gifts to VFW Old Capitol Post 2950 in Corydon.
