  Alvin, 84, died December 27, 2012. He was born to Othel and Lucille (Banks) Mack. Alvin honorably served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Browne-Cavender Post #148 in Mason. He retired from GM after 23 years of service. Alvin enjoyed watching U of M and Detroit Lions football but especially loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Norma Jean; 3 daughters, Cheryle (Todd) Mittag, Patricia Wright and Carol Mack; 3 sons, Michael, Richard (Michelle), and Douglas; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Michael (Mary) Murphy; and one sister, Wanetta (Richard) Smiley. Funeral Services were held Thursday, January 3, 2013, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Ball-Dunn Chapel, Mason, MI with the Rev. Wesley B. Emerson officiating. Contributions in Alvin's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
