OH Mahoning Dispatch, Fri, 2 Jan 1903 "The Telegram contained the following regarding a former resident of Canfield who leaves many friends and quite a number of relatives in this place. Word was received Thursday of the death at Buffalo of Mrs. Stratton Johnston. The news came as a shock to her many friends in Youngstown, where up to 12 or 14 years ago she had lived with her husband. Death came suddenly, the cause being heart failure. Mrs. Johnston was well known in Youngstown where. As a true Christian woman, she gained the love and respect of all who had the good fortune of her acquaintance. In charitable work she was prominent and her deeds of kindness and her generous hospitality have won her lasting gratitude from many people. Mrs. Johnston was born the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Truesdale, at Austintown, in 1850. Among the members of her family were W. C. Truesdale of Spring street; ex-Councilman Chase T. Truesdale, brothers, and Mrs. A. P. Webb and Mrs. Frank Klotz, sisters. She leaves two children, Charles and Florence. Charles Johnston is the head of the sales department of the Republican Iron and Steel company at Cleveland while his father, Stratton, is the head of the sales department of the same company at Buffalo. The funeral was held at Buffalo Saturday afternoon." Mahoning Dispatch, Fri, 17 Apr 1903 "Home and County News - The remains of Mrs. Stratton Johnston, who died some months since in Buffalo, N.
