  Reading Eagle- May 31, 1898 Abstract He was a well-known former resident of Pottstown. A coach maker and coach painter. He followed that occupation near Douglassville when a young man. Later he was in charge of the Reading and Perkiomen turnpike gate at High and Keim Sts. He leaves a widow and 2 children, M. Ella Ruth and Samuel G. Ruth. His mother was Mrs Maria Ruth and his sisters were Annie and Ella, brother Lyman H Ruth
