  Eleanor was the fifth of seven children of James Barber and Elizabeth Wright. She was raised in Columbia in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She married Elisha Moore of Sadsbury Twp. By 1810 they were living in Bellefonte in Centre County, where she died at age 50. She was buried at Union Cemetery according to the book Andrew Moore and His Descendants, 1612-1897. That book gives the year of her death as 1821. The book Genealogy of the Barber Family says she died in 1827.
