- Jessie Herr Dead At 73 Mrs.
Jessie M. Herr, 73, of 1 W. Main St., Mountville, died at St. Josephs Hospital Friday at 10:15 a m. She had been ill several weeks.
She was the wife of Jefferson Herr, and was born in Conestoga Center, a daughter of the late George and Anna Martin Sigman.
Mrs. Herr was a resident of Mountville the past 24 years. She was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church of that community, the Senior Citizens Club of Mountville, and was past president and a member of the ladies Auxiliary of Mountville Fire Co. She also was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Reese-Hall Post 8757, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are nine children: Donald J. Herr, Millersville; Raymond H., Columbia Rl; James A., Columbia R2; Gerald L., Columbia; Glenn E., Columbia Rl; Kenneth G., Mountville; John A., Mountville; Betty A., wife of Melvin Ault, Mountville; and Jean E., wife of Thomas Hess, also in Mountville. These brothers and sisters also survive: Donald Sigman, West Willow; Mrs. Mildred Yeaglin, West Willow; Mrs. Nora Arment, Lancaster; Kathryn, wife of John Fasnacht, Lancaster; and George Sigman, Lancaster RD. There are 31 grandchildren and five great-grand-children.
