- Arlene M. Harry Herr, 86, formerly of Mountville, died Monday, June 5, 2006 at Rheems Nursing Center of natural causes. She was the wife of the late James A. Herr who died April 14, 2002.
She was born in Columbia, daughter of the late Howard M. and Ellen B. Lenard Harry. She was a seamstress for Kahn-Lucas Manufacturing, Columbia for over 30 years before her retirement. A member of Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Sewing Group. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, trips to the mountains and spending quality time with her family. She was a life member of the former Silver Spring Fire Company Ladies Auxilliary.
She is survived by one son: D. Jay, married to Judy Heckendorn Herr, Columbia; two daughters: Linda A., married to Gordon B. Reed, Lancaster, and Denise K., married to Bernard G. Heim, Elizabethtown; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother: Earl R., married to Janet Harry, Columbia; one sister: AnnaBelle, married to Jerome Ginter, Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a son, Edward J. Herr; a daughter, Ruth Ann Rohrer; a granddaughter: Chamberlyn Joy Teaman; three brothers, Paul, Jay and Ralph Harry.
A memorial service will be held at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3825 Concordia Road, Columbia, SATURDAY, JULY 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Thomas W. Rundell and Rev. Jerry Berrier, officiating. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: Trinity E.C. Church, PO Box 43, Mount Joy, PA 17552 or Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Arrangements by the Kraft-Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., Mountville/Columbia.
